    Topic: Manslaughter - Photographs

Summary of the Facts: Windell Washington was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to twenty years. He appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Washington argues that the trial court erred in allowing prejudicial photographs of the victim to be admitted into evidence, because Washington did not contest the identification of the victim. A photograph will be admissible if it has an evidentiary purpose, regardless of whether it is gruesome or inflammatory. Washington claimed that he only shot the victim three times, but the photographs show that the victim was hit six times. Thus, the trial court did not abuse its discretion in admitting these photographs into evidence.
