Topic: Bar discipline - Reinstatement - Miss.R.Disc. 12.5, 12.6, 12.7

Summary of the Facts: Gerald Baldwin, Jr. seeks reinstatement to the practice of law. Baldwin was disbarred after he pled guilty to felonious possession of cocaine. In response to Baldwin’s petition, the Bar filed a motion to dismiss with prejudice, stating that Baldwin failed to adequately address the requirements of Mississippi Rule of Discipline 12.7; failed to show successful completion of the Mississippi Bar Exam and the Multi-State Professional Responsibility Exam as required by Mississippi Rule of Discipline 12.5; and failed to submit the $500 investigatory fee to the Bar as required by Mississippi Rule of Discipline 12.7.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Baldwin’s one-page Petition, containing only generic statements, is lacking both in content and substance, and fails to adequately address each of the requirements set forth in Mississippi Rules of Discipline 12.5, 12.6 and 12.7. He has made no attempt to demonstrate he has met the requirement for requisite legal learning. Thus, his petition for reinstatement to practice law is dismissed with prejudice.
