Topic: Post-conviction relief - Time bar

Summary of the Facts: Dwight Bridges pled guilty to kidnaping and armed robbery. Over ten years later, Bridges filed a petition for post-conviction collateral relief. The court dismissed the petition as time barred. Bridges appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Bridges was obligated to file a petition for post-conviction relief within three years after entry of the judgment of conviction. Since Bridges waited nine and one-half years before he filed his petition for post-conviction relief, the court did not err in finding that his petition was time barred.
