Topic: Possession of precursor chemicals - Sufficiency of evidence

Summary of the Facts: Joel Anderson was convicted of possession of precursor chemicals and sentenced to thirty years, with five years suspended and five years of supervised probation. Anderson appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Anderson argues that none of the drugs or precursor chemicals were actually found on him and that the evidence points only to another person, not to him. The jury had before it only the evidence from the other person that Anderson was an active participant in the methamphetamine lab. Because Anderson did not testify or put on any evidence, there was no contradictory evidence presented. Therefore, the verdict was not overwhelmingly against the weight of the evidence.
