Topic: Possession & sale of controlled substances - Sufficiency of evidence

Summary of the Facts: Almonzo Jones was convicted on a multiple count indictment for possession and sale of controlled substances. He appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Jones challenges the sufficiency of the evidence. The evidence in this case included a videotape of the events, testimony from the confidential informant about events, testimony from the agent who pursued Jones in his flight, testimony from a forensic chemist with the Mississippi Crime Laboratory about the analyses undergone to prove the substances as crack cocaine and marijuana, and a post-arrest statement in which Jones admitted to conducting the sale. This is sufficient evidence to support the verdict.
