Topic: Sale of controlled substance - Weight of evidence

Summary of the Facts: Billy Williams was convicted of the sale of a Scheduled II controlled substance and sentenced to serve a term of twenty-five years. He appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Williams argues that the verdict was against the overwhelming weight of the evidence. The record shows that the testimony and exhibits introduced at trial were more than adequate to support a conviction in weight and sufficiency. An officer and the confidential informant identified Williams as the perpetrator on the audio/video recording, which was played for the jury. They both testified that they were familiar with Williams from the community and knew him by his nickname. Additionally, the test results introduced at trial confirmed that the substance exchanged was rock cocaine.
