Topic: | Burglary of dwelling - Sufficiency of evidence |
Summary of the Facts: | Terrance Hill was convicted of burglary of an inhabited dwelling, and sentenced to twenty-five years. He appeals. |
Summary of Opinion Analysis: | Hill argues that the lower erred in allowing his conviction to stand because insufficient evidence was presented at trial to support his conviction. At trial, the State introduced Hill’s written statement and played Hill’s audio recorded statements of guilt, amounting to a confession, for the jury. Testimony established that Hill was found in possession of the items stolen from the home within an hour of the robbery when he was trying to pawn the stolen goods. Thus, there was sufficient evidence before the jury to convict Hill of burglary of a dwelling. |
