Topic: Sale of cocaine - Weight of evidence

Summary of the Facts: Hollis Price, Jr. was found guilty of the sale of cocaine. He was sentenced to thirty years, with fifteen years suspended. He appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Price argues that the verdict is against the overwhelming weight of the evidence because there was inadequate eyewitness identification. An agent identified Price as the person who sold the substance to him. In addition, the confidential informant who witnessed the transaction testified that she had known Price for more than a year prior to the date of the alleged sale. Given this evidence, the jury's verdict was not against the overwhelming weight of the evidence.
