Topic: Murder - Weight of evidence

Summary of the Facts: Corey Smith was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. He appeals.

Summary of Opinion Analysis: Smith’s counsel alludes to one error which might support an appeal, that the verdict was against the overwhelming weight of the evidence. Although the jury could have accepted Smith’s version of events and found him not guilty by reason of self-defense, it made an informed decision in determining what happened on the night in question.
